FLOODS IN INDIA
(Received August 11,' 2 p.m.) SIMLA, 10th August. Abnormal monsoonal rains have caused floods throughout the country. They are particularly severe iv Bengal, where a number of villages were swept away. At Jamshedpuv a thousand huts in the native quarter were destroyed, and many ara homeless. Large areas of crops in various districts were destroyed. In Calcutta, the main streete are deeply flooded;. traffic is suspended, and heavy damage has been done to goods and property.
