ROTORUA, This Day. About £76 in cash, and £40 in cheques were stolen from the office of Johnson and Cooper, auctioneers, yesterday afternoon. A cleric went out for a few minutes, leaving tlje safe open, and when he returned he found that the cash-box had been stolen.

A donation of £2 2s has been made by Mr. H. E. Leighton to the recreation fund of, the Lower Hutt Volunteer Fire Brigade. Three new members have been elected to the brigade. Messrs. E.
