GAINS AND LOSSES OF PARTIES
OLD COALITION IN A MINORITY

The final election figures show the position of parties to be: Centre Party, 67 seats; Majority Socialists, 110 j Democrats, 46, giving the Coalition 223 seats out of 460. The largest of the other parties are: • Nationalists, 65 seats; Popular Party, 61; Independent Socialists, 80. The results show the following election losses: Majority Socialists, 35 seats; Democrats, 30; Centre, 4; and the following gains: Independent Socialists, 58; German People's Party, 39; German Nationalists, 23. Thus the Coalition, which numbered 326 in the old Assembly,has now only 222 members, while the Opposition, which formerly numbered 86, is now 238.
