POSITION OFFERED TO JELLICOE

LONDON, 9th June.
The position of Governor-General of Australia was not offered to General Birdwood. __ Admiral Jellicoe had the choice of New Zealand or Australia, and selected the former, stating that "Australia requires a man richer than I am."
