The Republican Convention at Chicago has adjourned pending the result of the committee's attempt to agree on the candidates. , Senator Chauncey Depew, in a speech at the convention, compared President Wilson with the man who gave everything away at the Peace Conference, mid then objected to a trifle like Fiume. President Wilson wanted a new League of. Nations, a new Heaven, and a new earth, with himself as the recording angel thereof.
