DROUGHT IN N.S.W.

WESTERN DISTRICTS SUFFER,

(UKITBfi PRESS -ASSOCIATION.—COPYRISHT.) (Received AjjT?M9, 10.30 a.m.) ,

SYDNEY, This Day.

Official reports show that •■ severe drought conditions continue in c the Western Districts. On the North-west plains and slopes and parts of the Rivorina Country, and in. the South-west slopes the recent rims have h&en insufficient to relieve the situation. The crops are largely a failure. Herbage is scant and much hand feeding is necessary. There are heavy losses of stock and ploughingl is delayed. The outlook for the winter is gloomy unless good rains fall soon. In other districts, particularly on the coast, the crops and other conditions are generally favourable.
