A meeting- of the Discharged Priaonars' Aid Society was helci in tho Judges' Room of the Supreme Court on Friday itfternoon last. His Honour tho Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) presided, and tfiero were also present his rloneur Mr. Justice Cooper, Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.. Mr. YV. Green of the Sulva-tion Army, and Mr. E. Arnold, Visiting Justice of the Prisons.- The report showed numerous examples of tho good work done by the society in helping discharged prisonera to pull themecives up again. All who left prison could lind a friendly hand, food and lodging if (.hey needed it, and fnres were paid up tlip country if they wished to leave Wellington. TMernnco was also made to the! work of tlvs Govsrnmont Borstal institution at Invercarsrill. where youthful offenders had the opportunity of fitting themselves for a career of decent citizenship.
