GOVERNMENT HOMES
PROVISION AT CHRISTCHUROH.
The Prime Minister announced to-day that the Government had. purchased about 18 acres of land at Christchurch almost at the end of the Papanui section of the tram line for sub-division for workers' houses. It is proposed to call tenders* almost immediately for the erec-* tion thereon of between 75 and 80 houses, which will probably be built in brick or concrete.
