WELLINGTON CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
Members, of the Wellington Caledonian Society held their annual meeting last evening. The Chief, Mr. David Clark, jjresided. In a brief survey of the work of the past year, Mr. Clark said that much progress had been made. The society had purchased a hall, there was a. membership of over 500, and the balancesheet showed a credit of £156 7s 9d. -During the year a number of successful gatherings were held, and also a fine sports meeting, which' it is hoped to make an annual event.
The following officers were elected for the following year .-—Chief, Mr. David Clark; chieftains, Messrs. W. Corbett, J. Paterson, J. Turnbull, D. Dick, T. W. Leslie; directors, Messrs. H. Clark, J. D. Ross, J. L. Coy, D. C. Armstrong D. A. L. Clark, J. M'Gregor, K. M'Kenzie, J. A. F. Crothers, J. Annand Smith, J. Craig, J. Grant, A. B. Sievwright, J. D. M'Kenzie ; treasurer, Mr. J. Burns ; secretary, Mr. William M'Kee.
