HIGH-PRICED CHOCOLATES
Most of the confectioners in the Westend of London are stocking boxes of chocolates ranging from 10 to 20 guineas each; there is no lack of purchasers. The artist and the confectioner have, indeed,, combined to .make these delicacies so tempting in appearance, by the aid of hand-painted silks and satins, that the amorous swain in search of an appealing gift for his lady-love falls an easy victim to their guiles. At a well-known highclass confectionery establishment in Dover-street, Piccadilly, a Daily Chronicle representative found a sumptuously decorated basket of chocolates displayed. On inquiring the price.he was told that it was 15 guineas, and that it contained 101b of chocolates. "The chocolates are priced at 6s 6d a pound," said the manager f "bivtwocould£f<jtagooddeiil more for thorn la Amerfeft. It h \m% tea thin* to cAßflias us to », footiigw tevoiwiie,'!
