"POSSUM PADDOCK."
- The box plans opened to-day for the season of Kate Howarde's Comedy Company, which commences at the Grand Opera House on Easter Saturday night. The members of the company arrived from Sydney by the Manuka yesterday, after completing a. triumphal tour of Australia. When "Possum Paddock" was produced at the Theatre Eoyal, Sydney, the Sydney Morning Herald said: "The Theatre Royal was uproariously rushed—the eager people tumbling over one another to get in—and after the curtain had been drawn up their paroxysms of laughter would have put a circus to the blush!" Mr. Fred Mac Donald, whose Dave in "On Our Selection" is well remembered in New Zealand, has the principal part, and he has received unstinted praise from the Australian papers.
