RUGBY CONTROL
Members of the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union met last evening. Mr. W. F. Hornig presided. It was. reported that the first match of the season would be played at Athletic Park on Saturday between Poneke and the Palmerston Pirates. Permission was granted to the following clubs to play during Easter:—Oriental v. Kaierau Club, at Wanganui; Ber- i hampore v. Pahia.tua, at Pahiatua; Petone v. West Coast teams, at Westport and Reef ton ; Petone v. Huia Club (Nelson), at Petone; Selwyn v. Dannevirke, at Dannevirke; Wellington v. Christchurch Club, at Christchurch.. The season will be officially opened' j on 24th April with a seven-a-side tourna- ! ment, and the championship matches will I commence on Ist May. It was decided to allow a team from the Amokurato enter in this year's competitions. «!
