Mr, Nathaniel Peat (Corporal, 42569) is In Lanarkshire, working on his father's farm, whither he went on his discharge from the N.Z.E.F. Mr, Peat's own desii'o is to return to New Zealand, but in deference to his, father's wishes he is, remaining in Scotland for a while, at any rate. In conjunction with a younger brother, he has lately been looking "at farms, with a view,, if finding anything suitable, to settling down. He finds that rents have risen 50 per cent., and in some cases they have even been doubled, and expenses generally are very high.

Mr. F. Nightingale (6/4113) had hoped to return to .Now Zealand, but on his return from Germany last January; his father was killed, and he stayed on to take over ma father's business. Ho is living at Maidenhead.

Mr. Victor M'Kinstry (11321, Sergeant) is over 111 Belfast, his father's health preventing him from looking after his own motor business. Mr. M'Kinstrv writes: "I would like to go back to New Zealand again, as it is a lovely country in which to live^

Mr. W. Stevenson (57169) is staying over in County Antrim for a while with his people. He writes: "I hope to be back under those sunny skies of New Zealand before another winter 6ets in. here." Mr. William H. Barker (4/1326) was demobilised m England last March in order to take over the management of the Langdon Beclt Hotel and Farm at Middleton-in-Teeedalo on behalf of his mother. He is thinking of giving a lecture locally about farming and industrial life in. New Zealand, illustrated by lantern slides.

Mr. W. J. Annand (Bandmaster W.O.T , 6/3239) was discharged last May, because he could not get .sufficient leave from the military authorities tc attend to conic business matters in England. At present hp is playing solo cornet in the orchestra at the Marina Theatre. Lowestoft,- where he has already been for 5 few months, and where- he will most likely remain until he can arrange for a definite civilian passage to Now Zealand, probably some time next year. Mr. Annand belongs to Tima:-u, and he left New Zealand with the Bth Reinforcements.

Mr. Charles F. Eecd (78653) is busy working at Pluinstead, in Kent, but he hopes to go back to New Zealand some time next yoa-r, accompanied by hi* wife Mr. H. M. Mann (7/1760) has married since being demobilised in England, and is at present a pupil on a farm at 'Withara. Nest year ho hopes to start farming on his own account.

Mr. C. Rummel (6/1209) ij away in Sunderland, but ho hopes to go back to New Zealand eventually.
