BIG SEAPLANE PROPOSALS
WASHINGTON, 7th February. General Craven, Director of * Navsl Aviation, informed the House of Representatives that the Navy Department contemplates the construction of two giant seaplanes, tht> l&rgcst ii, the world, and he asked for an appropriation .of 636,000 dollars for this work. He also recommended the construction of four new N.C. seaplanes, 150 smaller seaplanes, and three small non-rigid dirigibles, in all costing 2,700,000 dollars. General Craven said th* giant seaplanes would have a capacity of thirty tons and a wjng-spread of 140 feet.
