SENTENCES AT AUCKLAND. <II TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) • AUCKLAND, 7th February. At the Supreme Court, Frank Stokes, who pleaded guilty on ten charges of false pretences, theft, and forgery, was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment and declared an habitual criminal. Walter George Edward Wheeler, 29 years o£ age, who has 25 convictions since he arrived in New Zealand four years ago, was sentenced to twelve months and declared an habitual criminal. On eleven charges of forgery and false pretences, Oscar Strangebye, a Norwegian, was declared an habitual criminal, and was sentenced to two years' imprisonment for breaking and entering. A similar sentence was imposed on Charles Henderson for false presences. Harry James Fitzgibbons was sentenced to five years' imprsonment for assaulting his mate; and. Henry Wahanui, the leader in a theft from the person at T.okomaru, was ordered two years' reformative treatment; while two younger accomplices, Henry Solomon and Kaka Riki, were admitted to probation.
