ROAD OPEN TO THE REDS

ALLIED POLICY BROKEN DOWN.

LONDON, 2nd January; The London newspapers are alarmed at the Bolshevik menace in India.

General Maurice, writing in the Daily News, points out that the Red Army's road to India is now open. He say's:— "The Allied policy towards Russia has broken down. At present there is no polidy at all. The situation will not brook delay, because the Bolsheviks can now establish direct communication with Persia, Afghanistan, and the north-west frontier of India. Reports from Russia show that they are prepared to take advantage of this."
