SCHOONER HUDDERSFIELD LEAKING. A Press Association message from Sydney states that the schooner Huddersfleld, which sailed for Gisborne on Saturday, put. back on Sunday in a leaking condition. The' leak is, in the topside. The Huddersfleld is a new vassel, and will be overhauled before resailing. THE MAORI'S RUNNING. According to a Press Association message from Lyttelton, the ferry, steamer Maori was late again on Saturday, but tho Union Steam Ship Company arranged for ft special southern express" leaving - Ctiristchnrch at about 2 p.m. to take the ferry passengers to Dunedin. The Maori arrived at 1.5 p.m. Very bad coal is said to be the cause-of the delay. Mr. S. K. Sleigh, manager of the .Union Company at Chrlstoliurch, states that this is the only cause. A rumour that a leaky boiler was the trouble was dismissed as quite incorrect. THE MOERAKI. . The Union Company's intercolonial steamer. Moeraki arrived at' Wellington at X p.m. yesterdny. from Sydney, direct, and berthed at 5.10 p.m. at No. 1 north, Queen's Wharf, to disembark her passengers. Fair weather was ■ experienced generally on the trip from Sydney, .which port was left at 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday last. In addition to « number of passengers, the Moeraki brought 1050 tons of cargo for Wellington, including transhipments ex Madras Maru, Mallina, Eastern China, Tango Maru, Kaikoura, Kobio Maru, Karoola, Poona, Orvieto, Indiania, and Wandilla. The Moeraki is to sail for Lyttelton to- ■ night to discharge the remainder of- her cargo.
