(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) NEW YORK, 6th Decern!*!'.
The Times Washington correspondent says that it is expected that Earl Grey (who went to the United States to act as British Ambassador, in September) will shortly retire and return to England. It is .understood that he had accepted the Ambassadorship to America temporarily in order to settle matters between the United States and England arising from the war, but owing to President Wilson's illness Earl Grey will probably leave without reaching a settlement.
