A ROUND TRIP
GOVERNOR-GENERAL'S TOUR OP
SOUTH ISLAND,
The Government .steamer Tutanekai, which, with the Governor-General (the Earl of Liverpool), the Countess of Liverpool, and party on board, has just com-, pleted a round trip of the.South Island, returned to Wellington this morning. The Tutanekai left Wellington on 27th November, and in turn visited Picton, Nelson, Westland, Milford, Bluff, Dunedin, Akai-oa, and Lyttelton. The GovernorGeneral and party left the vessel at tho Bluff, and went overland, via Queenstown, to Dunedin, where thoy- rejoined the ship on Monday evening. His Excelcency left the Tutanekai at Christchurch, where he has gone into residence for tv few weeks. The trip was by no means a pleasing one, for very unpleasant weather conditions prevailed, particularly on tho West Coast. On the run between Dunedin and Lyttelton, also, rough weather was encountered, and-some of tho cabins were flooded. Despite the unfavourable weather, the Tutanekai kept well up to her time-table, and all engagements were able to bo kept.
