The New York Tribune publishes an exclusive interview with Carpentier, who says: "Beckett is a Very slow and. orthodox fighter. He relies largely on his great, strength, and- has only an elementary idea of fighting. I neyer heped tp win a fight sp quickly. I expected the hardest'battle ef my career, but it preyed the easiest. I am anxipus to fight Dempsey." ' ■ ■
_At Milwaukee "Jack" Sharkey beat "Jimmy" Wilde (England) on points in a ten-round bout. Wilde seemed, in poor fprm, but fought gamely. ■■'.
