INFECTIOUS DISEASES
INFLUENZA DECREASING,
Last week's notifications of infectious diseases for»the Wellington Health District were as follow compared with the figures for the previous week, given in parentheses : Scarlet fever, 1 (4); diphtheria 18 (15); enteric, 3 (1); tuberculosis, 6 (11); cerebrospinal meningitis, L,(0) j influenza, 40 (70) : pneumonia, 8 (14); measles, 6 (9); erysipelas, 2 (1); Last week there were also four ca6es of puerperal septicaemia.
• Of the influenza cases, the local notifications were: Wellington city, two pneumonic, and eight mild ; Lower Hutt, one mild ; Porirua, one pneumonic.
Of the total notifications, three were pneumonic, and one was severe, as com : pared with four pneumonic in the pre: vious week.
The cases of pneumonia occurred as follow : Inglewood, 2; Hawera, 2; Wellington, 3.
