FAMOUS PICTURE FOR VICTORIA
LONDON, 3rd December.
The Felton Bequest has purchased for Australia Turner's famous picture, "Walton Bridges," which was painted in 1810. The picture was formerly sold at Christie's for about £5000.
[Alfred Felton, a Melbourne merchant, in ISO 4 bequeathed the interest on half of his estate for the purchase of works of art for the Victorian National Gallery.]
