CRIME IN IRELAND
A DISGRACE TO CIVILISATION
APPEAL BY THE CHIEF JUSTICE.

LONDON, 3rd December. -
Irish crimes were judicially denounced at the opening of the Assizes. The Chief Justice (Mr. T. F. Molony), speaking at Cork, said the root cause was the attitude of people who allowed themselves to be downtrodden by a comparatively small number of reckless, wicked men. He asked Irishmen to assert their dignity and manhood to end a state of things which was a.disgrace to civilisa> tiofl. Mr. Justice Kenny, of Dublin, alid Mr. Justice Dodd, of Belfast, spoke in similar strain.
