MELBOURNE, 7th December. As a result of negotiations the transAustraliaa railway • will resume traffic immediately, pending a conference to settle details of agreement. The employees have been 'reinstated.

[On 28th October all the locomotive men on the East-West railway ceased work, demanding increased wages and better i working conditions. They, are dissatisfied with a recent award, and complained that the whole of the drivers on the express service had been disrated from first to second and third class, and correspondingly reduced in pay.
