WELLINGTON BEATS CHRIST-
CHURCH.
The semi-annual competition between the Wellington Golf Club and tho Christchurch Golf Club for the Tuson Cup was played on the Heretaunga Links on Sr-tur-, day. The teams were: — Wellington.—A. D. S. Duncan, J. C. Bitlwill, J. B. MacEwan, K. Duncan, P. B. Cooke, W. E. Reid, P. Blundell, R. W. Kirkby. Christchurch.—H. B. Lusk, B. B. Wood, W. A- Humphreys, C. J. R. Ward, 0. H. Nowlett, S. K. Sleigh. L. Bennington, C. Wood.
Four-ball matches were played in the morning, in all of .which the Wellington Club were successful. The singles played in the afternoon resulted as follow: — A. Duncan beat H. B. Lusk, 2 up and 1 to play; J. C. Bidwill lost to B, B. Wood, 1 down; J. B. MacEwan beat WA. Humphreys, 1 up: K. Duncan beat ■C. J. R. Ward, 1 up; P. B. Cooke beat C. H. Hewlett, 4 up and 2 to play; W. E. Reid beat S. K. Sleigh, 3 up and 2 to play; P. Blundell baat L. Bonnington, 4 up and 2 to play; R. W. Kirkby and C. Wood, all square. In the mixed foursoinea played between mombers of the Wellington Golf Club against bo^rey for the silver bowl presented by Lady Bell and silver cup presented by officers of H.M.S. Challenger, the following wore the best cards handed
Miss Mantell and R. W. Kirkby, 4 up; Miss L. Brandon and G, T. George, 2 down; Miss M, Tweed and J. Marchbatiks, 3 down.
