THE HOLIDAY SEASON
HEAVY BOOKING ON STEAMERS,
As Christmas is rapidly approaching, residents are arranging for I their annual holidays, and already the rush for steamer accommodation has commenced. Union Company officials informed a Post reporter, who made some inquiries to-day, that all passenger space on the ferry steamers from -2nd and 25th December has been fully booked, and that there were also numerous applications for berths prior to those dates. The Mokoia and Monowai are to run on the Lyttelton ferry service at the holiday season. In regard to the Picton-Nelson service, the position, as yet, is not so acute, although booking is proceeding satisfactorily. There have been numerous applications for berths onSydney steamers, and the next two vessels to leave Wellington for Australia will carry full complements. The Nelson steamers Nikau and Kaitoa are'fully booked for the Christmas season.
