MR. WRIGHT AT NEWLANDS
Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., addressed a meeting at Newlands last night, Mr. Fntter presiding over a fair number of electors.
The candidate dealt at length witnational and local matters, and while on the subject of education stressed the need of a new school at Newlands. As to the need of extensive road improvements in order to assist the man on the land, he urged the appointment of road boards, which would determine the main roads and the type of roads to be constructed in any. given quarter. It cou-d also inquire into the necessity of 'deviations or regrading. He congratulated the Good Roads Association upon the way in which it was educating public opinion regarding its objects. Mr. Wright answered a number of questions. There were some interruptions during his address, but he was accorded a vote of thanks.
