The case of Frederick B. Brough, private hotelkeeper, of Petone, against R. Shilling, private hotelkeepsr, of Wellington, was concluded in the Supreme.Court' before Mr Justice Edwards and a jury of four. The claim wa6 in .connection with the purchase of defendant's interest ill, and lease of, the Rutland Private Hotel, the yjint in dispute being* in regard to tho painting and varnishing of the premises. Brough claimed that Shilling had represented that' the lease contained no provision imposing on tho lessee any obligation in ; thi<j' direction.'
