UNITED STATES WAR EFFORT

PRINCE OF WALES'S APPRECIATION.

(tINtTUD rKBSS ASSOCIATION.—<X)PTRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN • NOW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received November 13, 2 p.m.) WASHINGTON, 11th November.

The Prince of Wales was entertained at the National Press Club. In a speech he said: "It would have been a very great regret to me had the President's illness unhappily prevented me fulfilling a keen desire to visit the United States this year, and. for this personal reason, as well as much widor ones. I rejoice in his steady improvement. The spirit of your soldiers and sailors—officers and men— appealed to mo very strongly, and made me wish to know their country and their kin. .The rapidity of your organisation, moreover, enabled me to realise the devotion and strength that this mighty nation can espouse in a noble cause."
