PREVENTION OF CRUELTY
Tho fortnightly meeting of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty, to Animals took place at the secretary's office, Customhouse-quay. The president (Mr. F. .Meadowcroft) was in the chair. The inspector's report dealt with cases of cruelty to cows, two horses lame, two with sores, one case of underfeeding and overworking, and'seven cats destroyed. Ho also pub in a long report on the dehorning'of cows:on a farm he inspected at Linton- Subscriptions received amounted to £10 6s.
