TRIX POINTER WINS THE CUP.

The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's Spring Meeting- opened in glorious weather, but a fresh breeze blowing had a tendency to raise dust. The track was in excellent order, and the attendance constituted a record. The sum invested on the race for the Cup, £16,147, is the largest amount ever handled by a totalisator on any race in the Dominion. After the event Lady Liverpool preeented the cup to Mr. W. H. Norton, owner of Trix Pointer. During the day the totalisator handled £76,291, as compared • with £52,091 10s for the corresponding day last year. Remaining results": — New Zealand.
