PROFITEERING ACT
CHARGE FOR SKILLED SERVICES
CHIEF JUSTICE REJECTS A PLEA.
(DNIIBD PRESS ASSOCIATION.— COM&IQHT.) (AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND OABLB ASSOCIATION.) (Received November 11, 10 a.m.)
LONDON, Bth November. J.ne King s Bench refused a writ to prohibit the continuance of profiteering, in proceedings against two Wood Green chemists. The first charged 5s 6d and the second 3s 4d for preparing the same prescription. The Chief Justice rejected the ingenious argument that a chemist was entitled to charge for skilled services. Undoubtedly, he said, skill was required in making any sort of sale. If the argument was admitted, the Profiteering! Act would be valueless.,
