;;,Tho New York Times Washington correspondent reports that Senator Lodge made the following statement: — "I am delighted beyond measure at the showing made by Senator Fall's amendanents, for we did not expect great support for them. The .vote shows conclusively that tho Treaty must be radically changed ■ through reservations, or it will ■fo rejected."
'I Senator Hitchcock stated :■ "The votes show a well-defined determination on the, part of the Senate to do nothing which will send the Treaty back to Paris. I iam convinced that no changes will he ■made in the-text of the Treaty."
