OTAKI, 20th September. Fine weather favoured, the Otaki Meeting, but the attendance was not up to the standard of previous meetings. The sum of £14,075 was put through the totalisator during the day. Concluding results: — Stewards' Hack Handicap, of 120 soys ; six furlongs.—l Chaeronia, 7.7 (A. Reed); 1; 8 Printemps, 7.4, 2; 5 Matty, .8.0, 3 Also started: 7 Red Signal 8.10, 4 March On 8.7, 6 Fulica 7.9/ 3 Beloved 7.4, 2 Arch Lassie 7.3, 9 Some Girl 7.11. Chaeronia and Red Signal led the field, followed by Arch Lassie. ■ An exciting finish resulted in a. win for Ohaeronia. Time, Imin 16 3-ssec. Flying Handicap, of 200 soys; six furlongs.—2 Matatua, 7.7 (D. Morris), 1; 5 Moutoa Ivanova, 6.7, 2; 3 Trentham Rose, 6.7, 3. Also started: 1 Astinome 8.11, 3 Birkenvale 8.6, 4 Gold Problem 6.7. A good; race, half a length separating the placed horses. Time, Imin 15 2-ssec. ; Welter Hack Handicap, seven furlongs.—l Sacramento, 10.1 (M'Flynn), 1; 4 Dick, 8.7, 2; 3 Manu, 9.4, 3. Also started: 2 Master Boris 8.13, 7 Restful 8.11, 7 Russet &9, 8 Le Chat 8.7, 5 Moutoa Boy 8.7. Won by a length, two lengths separating second and third. Time, Imin 30 l-ssec. Kereihi Koera Handicap, seven furlongs';—l Old Gold, 9.1 ('M'Flynn), 1; 2 Ahika, 8.10, 2; 6 Sir Wallace, 8.7, 3. Also started : 3 Sweet Tipperary 9.6, 5 Prince Delaware 8.10, 4 Tyne 8.7. Won by a length, the same distance separating second and third. Time, Imin 30sec.
