A YEAR'S TOTAL OF IDLENESS,

LONDON, 24th August. The total loss of time in the South Wales coalfields during the twelve months ended in mid-July is 7,600,000 hours. Of this total, 4,594,C00h0urs were lost through avoidable absenteeism, 2,120,000 through unavoidable absence, and 658,000 through strikes.
