EASTBOURNE CLUB,

The annual report of the Eastbourne Bowling Club states: As is usual with a seaside club liko ours, we. lost several members, chiefly through the fact of removal; but ivß are pleased to be able to report that the new nominations already received outnumber our losses, so that our members' list promises to be more lengthy than ever it has been in any previous year. It is -with extreme regret that wo have to record the death of Sergeant-Major Hugh Girdlestone (lulled in aotion), a most popular member of the club, and whose professional services were always at the club's disposal; also Mr. Burcli, who was a-membor of the club for many years, and was always keenly interested in its welfare. The green improves ra.pidly each year, and. it is looking so well at the present time that we feel sure it will compare more than, favourably with any of tho city greens during the coming season. Mr. Abrahams, we are pleased to sta.to, is in control, and is devoting every care and attention to it. The year's work closed with a credit balance.
