MAGISTRATE'S COURT

This morning's sitting of tho Magistrate's Court was-presided over by Mr. W. G. Biddell, S.M.

Mary Barclay,, charged with drunkenness and a breach of her prohibition order, was fined 40s, with the alternative of seven days' imprisonment.' Norman Bennett was fined 10s, and Percy Bennett was fined 20s, for drunkenness.

John W. Bailey was remanded until Friday on a charge of having stolen two cases of oil, the property of the Wellington Harbour Board. Frederick Ardern was remanded to New; Plymouth on a charge of being the father of two unborn illegitimate children.

Ernest T. Dewar was remanded until the 25th. inst. on a charge of theft of a gold watch and chain and gold medal, valued at £47, the property of James M. Nicholson.
