GISBORNE, This- Day. The Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald an* nounces that the Government has purchased 800 acres of the Beeves estate at Tolago Bay; also 1000 acres of the Reynolds estate in the same locality, fra; a soldier settlement. This is the first; land acquired in this district for the! settlement of soldiers.
DUNEDIN, This Day. The Government has purchased for re<» turned soldiers 1162 acres near Ngapara,; North Otago, recently held by Sir. P.. T. Shand. It is limestone land of high!; quality, and will probably cut up acW vantageously into fiva farms.
