FIRE IN AN HOTEL
INCENDIARISM SUSPECTED,
(BI TELBORArn.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)"
FEILDING, This Day.
What looks like a clear case of incendiarism occurred last night, when two bedrooms al opposite ends of Hastie's Hotel were found to be on fire simultaneously, Owing to the prompt application of lire-fighting appliances, very little damage was done. On the previous night a (ire was discovered in the cellar under the bar. The premises had a bad record in regard to fires. In 1905 the then wooden building was totally destroyed, and a housemaid burned to death., The premises were rebuilt in brick, and a few years later a fire broke out in the upper story, when a fireman was killed by a collapsing chimney.
