PROGRESSIVE DEVELOPMENT
POLICY URGED

AUCKLAND, 28th May. .Th 9 Auckland Provincial - Farmers' Union to-day passed unanimously a number of remits advocating a progressive development policy on the part of the Government-in the direction of developing the idle lands of the Dominions in order to increase the output of the,primary products of the country. It was recommended that comprehensive, reports be prepared of all the unused lands of the Dominion by special boards iv each land district, acting in -conjunction with the Commissioner of Crown Lands. The boards would be required to make recommendations, as to the best and quickest method of bringing the lands into production. , . •
