NEWSPAPER'S CHARGES .REFUTED (UNITED PMSS ASSOCIATION,—COMBIGBI.) SYDNEY, 11th May.- . Replying to. -the Sun's charges re* garding the 1916-17 wheat, the Premier, -Mr. W. A. Holm.in,. in, a statement, says : "While the wheat has deteriorated to some extent, its freshness and wholesbinoness ai'e 'unaffected. ,-,.Tiie talk' of its being affected by mice and weevils' is sensation-mpngering. The lower portions of the stock affected by mice is not used. The British Government has &&- cepted flour containing SO per cent. o£ this wheat. During the present week the Government had test bakings made, and the analyst reported that the bread met all requirements of the Pure Food! Act." :
