HUNGARY'S PLIGHT
STRONG FEELING AGAINST BELAKUN ARMY DESERTING IN DIVISIONS. VIENNA, sth May (delayed). Belakun's note of surrender has provoked such a strong feeling against him even in worlnnen's circles that he wm nearly lynched at a meeting of the Workmen's and Soldiers' Council. Most of the People's Commissioners have fled from Budapest, because they fear the mob will commit outrages. An airship is ready to carry off Belakun and Jiis associates when tho peril necessitates their flight, LONDON, sth May (delayed). The Daily Chronicle's Copenhagen correspondent states that Be'.akun's army is deserting in divisions, and.joining the Rumanians, who are within fifty kilometres of Budapest. Belakun has issued a proclamation calling to the colours those with military training. Others will be enrolled in training battalions or employed in troncll-digging. Budapest has been declared a, war area.
