GEEYMOUTH, This Day. For some time past boring operations have been in progress at the Nine Mile, and the results so far have exceeded anticipations. An analysis of the coal shows that it is of the very best quality, and is superior to that obtained from the Liverpool Mine. As steam coal it will prove equal to the best in New Zealand. The .area covered by the new field is very extensive. The outcrop and borings show that there are at least 13,000,000 tons of coal, sufficient for supplies for 20 years. The mine is three miles from Runangs. Station, and the country is flat and presents no engineering difficulties in the way of railway construction.
