ALIENS IN AUSTRALIA.
■._ The foreign element in Australia is stronger than many people imagine, states the Queensland Grazier. "It is to be found in. all tho capital cities, and in the big- industrial towns. Some of its members are desperate' men, kicked out of Em-ope' or America; and some of them will stop at nothing. Moreover, they are often good talkers, and clever workers-up of a mob. Their talk and audacity attract followers from among the ■ young unbalanced men, and \extremiste of all ages and countries. Here you have the germs of anarchy and chaos. No Government can afford to take risks with this sort of thing, at any time. These_ times, when, waves of unrest are sweeping over the whole world, the'need for vigilance on. the part of the Government is intensified. To let this foreign' element go as it pleases is practically the same as to leave was matches about a powder magazine,, or to ignore the beginnings of a fire out west in the middle of a dry summer." ,
