LONDON, 27th February. Mr. Charles Bright, consulting engineer to the Commonwealth of Australia, and a well-known authority on cable communication, in a letter to The Times, urges the immediate laying down of many more cables, the introduction oflow, flat-rate charges, the establishment of a highly-developed Imperial wireless service, and the encouragement of air services.
He predicts that the great cable congestion will otherwise be permanent. In regard to cable delays, the British Postmaster-General, Mr. Illingworth, states that the companies concerned are taking every possible step to effect tho necessary repairs.l
