PERMANENT FORCES

ACCUMULATED ANNUAL LEAVE.

Tho annual leave for which members of the New Zealand Permanent Forces aro normally eligible, but which has been withheld by reason of war conditions, shall bo allowed to accrue, and rhall be granted subsequently as circumstances pormit (states a General Order just issued). The estates of members ol the New Zealand Permanent Forces who became deceased during the %var period shall be credited with the monetary value of any annual leave accumulated during tho war period. The leave year commences on Ist December aud ends 30th November. Members of tho Now Zealand Permanent Forces who re ceived no annual leave during the leave year Ist December, 1913, to 30th November, 1914, or in any subsequent leave year - during the war, will be credited with tho accrued leavo for which they would have been eligible on account of such periods under normal conditions. In event of death the amount payable to the deceased's soldier's estate will be arrived at by valuing the period of leave standing to his credit on account.of each leave year up to 30th November next following the date of casualty separately at the rates of pay issuable to hini for each such year in his substantive rank' in the New Zealand Permanent Forces.

Expeditionary Force rank or. rates of pay cannot be recognised in connection with claims for the monetary equivalent of accrued leave.
