Saturday was an ideal day for tennis, and all the city, as well as the Day's Bay courts, were crowded. Some interesting games were played in the' Ladies' inter-club competition, the results being as follow : Wellington B defeated Victoria College by 4 sets to 2. Singles : Miss Rigg v Miss Sievwright, '4—9; Miss Dolph v Miss .Easterfield, 7—9; Miss Sievwright v. Miss Salmond, 9—o; Miss Ward v Miss Moore, 9—5; Doubles : Misses Sievwright and Dolph v. Misses Easterfield and- Moore, 9—5; Misses Rigg and Ward v. Misses Sievwright and Salmond, 9—5.
Wellington C drew with Lyall Bay,'at Lyall Bay. Singles: Miss Browne v. Miss Lockhart, 9—7; Miss Jenkins v. Miss Taylor, 9—5; Miss Skill v. Miss Spencer, 7—9; Miss Moore v Miss Millington, 4—-9. , Doubles ; Misses. Browne and Jenkins v. Misses Lockhart and Milling'ton, 9 —6; Misses Moore and Skill v. Misses Taylor and Spencer, o—9.
