MUSICAL AND ELOCUTIONARY COMPETITIONARS.
Tho attention of lovers of music, song, and story is drawn io the advertisement announcing the date of the opening of the competitions promoted by the Wellington Competitions- Society. These include trials of strength in dancing (classical and Highland), essay-writing original story and poem, impromptu speaking and debate, and piano-plajing and singing. The entries number 1535,. from all parts of the Dominion, and should ■ ensure a lively contest. in the various departments. The judges are well-known experts, who will command the confidence of both competitors and the public; Early application for tickets is necessary. Further particulars may be found in the souvenir programme which has been issued.
