Special regulations were gazetted last night affectiiig Rifio Clubs and the Dominion Rifle Association.

These for the first time give the Rifle Clubs a direct representative) at General Headquarters, this being the Director of Military Training, who has euch representation added to his duties.

The Dominion JR/fln Association is placed under the jurisdiction of the Defence Department for the first time, and regulations providing that the General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Military Forces shall be the President and the Heads of Branches sit General Headquarters shall: bo Vice-Presidents and ex 6fficio members of the Executive Committee. The Exeoutive Officer will be appointed by the General Officer Commanding: the N.Z. Military Forces. He will be Chairman of the Executive Committee and have full control of the annual rifle meetings, subject always to regulations approved by the General Officer Commanding. The Executive Officer, whilst acting as such, will be temporarily attached to ithe General Headquarters Staff. Tha Exeoutive Committee will be composed of-^r(a) Two or more officers selected by tho General Officer Commanding; (b) one officer from each Military District nominated by the O.C. District; (o) one Ri9o Club official in each district, nominated by the District Rifle Clubs. Nominations will be submitted to the O.C. District for final selection.

The annual prize meeting will be held at Tretithani) when the camp staff conducting the meeting will consist of a camp commandant (executive officer), and ■an adjutant, a quartermaster, and range staff (eight officors), appointed by the G.O.C. and selected annually from the Pe-rinai]en.t Force. The Defence Department will undertake the messing, quartering, etc., for competitors at the following charges per day. (paid in advance): — Officers ami officials of Rifle Clubs, 4s; members of JRiSe Clubs, 3s; N.C.O.'s and privates, Permanent and Territorial Forces, including Cadets, 2s. Competitors who are- unable to attend the meeting through illness, or other unforeseen causes which, the executive may consider sufficient, will be allowed a. refund of camp fees paid, less the minimum charge as mentioned below:—Officers and officials of Rifle Clubs, 10s; members of Rifle Ghibs, 7s 6d; N.C.O.'s and privates of Permanent and Territorial Forces and Cadets, sb. .^No refarid of camp fees will be made' after quarters in camp have been allotted.

A cantfeen will be established as a branch of the Main Camp Canteen, under the jurisdiction of the Officer in Charge Canteens. ,
