THE EPIDEMIC COMMISSION
ORDER OF REFERENCE NOT ANNOUNCED.
Apparently the order of reference for the Epidemic Commission was practically complete several weeks ago, but the opening of the inquiry haa been delayed by various causes. It is understood that all reason for further procrastination w*!u<! removed at a meeting of. Cabinet to-day, but at the close of the sitting" the Minister of Health remarked to a Post representative that be would not announce the order of reference at present. The reporting of a serious case of "influenza" (the "complication" kind) to the District Health Officer yesterday lias caused some stir. Precautions have been taken for the isolation of the patient and contacts. The Minister-states that thenew amendment of the Public Health Act will facilitate, any measures iieceswry to [u'evimt another outbreak of tfte devastating dusease.
